Private: calculated on your device. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

A simple calculator with a memory you can see

Most basic calculators lose a number the moment you press the next key. This one keeps every line on a tape below the keypad. Tap any answer on the tape to reuse it, or edit an earlier line and the rest of the tape updates.

    • Continue from the last answer: press an operator such as + or × right after =, and the calculator starts from your previous answer (shown as ans).
    • Percent: 250 − 15% takes 15% off 250 (212.50), and 80 + 10% adds 10% (88).
    • Fix a mistake: ⌫ deletes one character, AC clears the line, and ± makes the number negative.
    • Keyboard: numbers and + − * / work straight from your keyboard. Enter means =.

    Four-function calculator vs scientific calculator

A four-function calculator adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides. That's all you need for shopping, budgets, splitting bills and checking receipts. Many tests (including some state exams for grades 6 to 8) allow only a four-function calculator. When you need powers, roots, sin or logs, switch to the scientific calculator.

    How we checked this

Before every update, this calculator is run in a real browser with these known answers, and it must match all of them:

    • 2 + 3 × 4 = 14 (order of operations) ✓
    • 0.1 + 0.2 = 0.3 (no rounding noise) ✓
    • 250 − 15% = 212.5 ✓

    Questions people ask

    What is a 4-function calculator?

A calculator that does the four basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Most also have percent and a memory, like this one.

Does this calculator follow order of operations?

Yes. 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14 because multiplication comes before addition. If you want to work strictly left to right, press = after each step; the next step starts from the last answer.

    Can I use it offline?

Yes. After the page loads once, it keeps working without an internet connection.

    Is my tape saved?

It's saved in your own browser so it's still there when you come back. It's never sent anywhere. Use Clear all to remove it.
