Calcist is a free calculator site built around one idea: you should be able to see how an answer was worked out, not just the answer.
How we check answers
- Tested formulas. Each calculator's formula is checked against worked examples with known answers, including edge cases like zero, negative numbers and division by zero, before it goes live.
- Exact where it matters. Fractions are calculated exactly, not as rounded decimals, so 1/3 + 1/6 is exactly 1/2.
- No guessing. The calculator never uses AI to do arithmetic. Every answer comes from a formula you can see on the page.
- Safe input. What you type is read by Calcist's own math parser. It's never run as code.
Privacy by design
All calculations happen in your browser. Your inputs and history are never sent to us. See the privacy policy.
Limits
Money calculators are estimates for planning and learning, not financial advice. Real returns, taxes and fees vary. School calculators use the most common grading scale; your school's may differ.
